Concealed Handgun Permit holders are just criminals who haven't yet discovered their true nature (at the 2:15 mark...the timer counts down):
"And we've seen that, just getting a concealed carry permit, all that means is that you haven't committed a crime yet."
--Daniel Vice, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership Senior Attorney
They don't want to take guns away from everyone...just the criminals...but everyone is a criminal who just hasn't yet committed any crimes...hmmm.
I also like the part (at 2:35) where he asserts "It's actually not illegal for known terrorists to buy guns" and then backs up that assertion by saying "One study found that in just six months, three dozen known or suspected terrorists were cleared to buy guns."[emphasis added]
Yup, he's a lawyer all right*. Make a bold assertion as if it were fact and then cite a completely different piece of information to provide the illusion of factual basis.
He is, of course, referring to the GOA study which found that people on secret FBI watch lists, who may be "known or suspected terrorists", or may be completely innocent people...we can't know because the lists and circumstances that lead to one being place on them are secret...were allowed to purchase guns.
We have no way of knowing whether people on those watch lists are actually a danger to society, because we don't know what reason people's names are placed there. Ted Kennedy ended up on one such list and I've known other people (some military vets with years of honorable and faithful service) who have had their names flagged when they tried to travel because of these secret lists.
At any rate, of course it's "not illegal" for them to purchase guns. In this country we have a thing known as "due process" by which rights may only be infringed through an established legal procedure...not just at the whim of some bureaucrat, FBI agent, or Brady Campaign talking head who doesn't like your friends or political activities.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership lives up to their name more and more every day.
Hat tip to Second Amendment Scholar David Hardy.
*No offense intended to all the lawyers out there, but you've gotta admit, as a profession, you guys have got "disingenuous" down to an art form.

Himself included, I presume. Now THERE'S a crowd I don't want to be lumped with.
